Burning the Midnight Oil

I realize I haven’t posted anything since the beginning of the month, and I’m very, very sorry.  I’ve made a promise to myself that I won’t become one of those annoying bloggers who posts two things and then disappear off the face of the earth.

That being said ...

Much has happened in the month of May.  Here’s a list:
  • I finally turned in my housing and administration forms for college, but have yet to turn in my tuition deposit and my physician’s form.  Gotta make a doctor’s appointment …
  • Loans are turning out to be more difficult then we thought.
  • I went to One-Acts and Senior Honors Night (3.5 honors cord & National Honors Society stole).
  • I attended a gradumacation.
  • I gradumacated.
  • I went to 6+ gradumacation parties.
  • I had my gradumacation party.  $638.14 payoff!
  • My brother had his birthday (May 21st)
  • My brother had his birthday party (right now).

There you have it!  Oh, man, I loved high school, and it still hasn’t hit me that it’s over.  I feel like it’s just another summer and I’ll be back at school in August.

Except I won’t!

Although, thanks to my college of choice's awesomely late class start date (Oct. 20th) I will still be around for my high school’s homecoming dance, which I will most definitely be attending.  Yeah.  I'm that person.

Anyway, on June 10th, I will be leaving Nebraska for Europe!  My Mom is taking me on an awesome three week cruise (that we definitely can’t afford) for my graduation present, and I’m very excited, but also very nervous.  Who wouldn’t be worried about spending three weeks with their Mom?  Scary things could happen …

I’ll live.  I hope.

We’ll get on the plane, which will stop in Iceland, because apparently it’s cheaper to stay on the plane for longer than to just fly directly to your destination.  Also, it’s the place my Mom wants to visit the most.  Then, we’ll stop in New York for a twenty-four hour layover.  I’ll be able to sleep for a while (after some very long plane rides) and then we’ll tour the college campus at 3:00 p.m.  I can finally see what I’m getting myself into!

Then, we go to Germany for one hour, and finally to London, where we’ll go on a Harry Potter Tour (after a sleepless night on the plane …) AND see a castle (number one on my list of things to do) before boarding our cruise ship.  Royal Caribbean for the win!

I have a feeling we’ll be sleeping for the first day.

Then, there are a number of countries that I don’t really remember, considering it’s after midnight and I’m only up because I’m keeping an eye on the one girl sitting in a room full of teenage boys.  France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Rock of Gibralter … Europe in general.

The end.  Thanks for listening to my ranting and rambling.  I think I'll pass out from exhaustion now.

I am making a pact to post every single day from here on out, partly to make it a habit for when I actually get to New York, which I know is the real reason you all are here.

I get it, no one cares what happens before New York.

Anyway …

To-Do List:

  • Sign physician’s papers
  • Get mom to sign for Parent PLUS loan
  • Line a job up for July
  • Pack for Europe

Love always,
Little Me
