Dear Reader,

Hi! Welcome to Little Me in NYC, a multipurpose lifestyle blog focusing on the transition into life in New York City as a young adult.

Here, I'll cover topics about college life, Crohn's Disease, and a general survival guide all within the bustling scene of New York City.

Some facts about me:
  • I am from Nebraska.
    • Yes, the land of the corn.  My high school of over 2,200 kids was surrounded on all four sides by it.  That's the midwest for you.
  • When I graduated from high school, I moved to New York City to pursue higher education.
    • I'm a musical theater major (because everyone in NYC is an artist.)
  • I was diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease, an inflammatory bowel disease that affects over 700,000 Americans, on the week of my tenth birthday.
  • I've always been a very busy person
    • I've been a competetive figure skater for 13 years
    • I was heavily involved in drama club (show choir, plays, musicals, one-acts, etc.)
    • I play the flute and the violin.
    • I was in national honors society
    • I was in a special culinary academy in high school
    • I was an overly over achiever in everything I did
  • I'm a dreamer
    • I did move to NYC to pursue musical theater and Broadway as a career, after all.
There’s much, much more, but I won’t bore you with the details now. You’ll find out in due time if you follow my blog (you can even subscribe by e-mail over on the right side there.  You know you want to.)

My ultimate goal is to update every single day (we all know that's not going to happen) or at the very least, every other day (slightly more likely.)

Until next time!  Let me leave you now with a factoid about Crohn's, because why not?

“Crohn’s is more common in developed countries rather than undeveloped countries, in urban rather than rural areas, and in northern rather than southern climates.”

That would be New York in a nutshell! Perhaps I’ll be around more of my own kind …

Love,
Little Me
